Nathan Cleary set to snub Chiefs and stay at Penrith

Nathan Cleary is set to stay at Penrith, turning down the PNG Chiefs' offer of around $1.5 million a season tax-free. Isaah Yeo is also staying. Cleary hasn't formally signed, but the Panthers are confident the deal is close. He is expected to earn upwards of $1.7 million a season for up to five years, which would be worth more than $8 million and make him one of the richest players in the game. With Cleary and Yeo secured, Penrith will table a new offer this week to Moses Leota, who is being chased by six clubs including Perth, PNG, the Bulldogs and the Titans. Leota says he wants to stay. His manager Gavin Orr says the prop can play another three seasons, having missed just six games in seven years.
