Mark Gasnier appointed to senior NRL role focused on participation
Former Dragons, NSW and Kangaroos centre Mark Gasnier has been appointed to a senior role at the NRL, focused on growing participation in the game. Gasnier, the nephew of Immortal Reg Gasnier, won a premiership with St George Illawarra in 2010 and played 15 Tests and 12 Origins. Since retiring, he has worked in commentary, developed the non-contact game Tri Tag Rugby, worked with OzTag and founded a sports registration app. His hiring is the latest move by executive chairman Peter V'landys, who has reshaped the NRL's head office since taking full control of the sport after Andrew Abdo's departure in July.
