Cody Walker close to Rabbitohs extension that could keep him playing until 38
Cody Walker is close to agreeing a contract extension with South Sydney that could keep him in the NRL until the age of 38. The deal is worth about $400,000, with a $75,000 bonus if the Rabbitohs win next year’s premiership, and the club has offered an option in its favour for 2028. If that option is taken up, Walker would equal Paul Gallen as the oldest player in NRL history and could reach 300 games, a remarkable achievement given he didn’t debut until he was 26.
