PNG Chiefs offer Cooper Bai three-year deal as Roosters and Storm circle
The PNG Chiefs have offered Cooper Bai a three-year deal after the Titans forward visited Port Moresby on the day of the club's launch, setting up a three-way battle with the Roosters and Storm. Bai is contracted to the Gold Coast for 2027 but has no plans to return for pre-season. His father, Storm great and PNG board member Marcus Bai, said the Roosters and Melbourne are strong chances, while stepping back from the Chiefs' negotiations due to a conflict of interest. The 19-year-old would prefer a long-term deal with one club, but signing with PNG would require a one-year stint elsewhere before the Chiefs enter the NRL in 2028. A decision is expected before November 1.
