Warriors extend Dally M hooker Wayde Egan for another year

The Warriors have locked in Dally M hooker of the year Wayde Egan with a 12-month extension, keeping him off the open market on November 1. The re-signing is key for the club after fellow hooker Sam Healey was given permission to speak with rivals about 2028 as he looks for a starting role. Egan has been one of the Warriors' best signings since arriving from Penrith in 2020 and was being looked at by Kiwis coach Stacey Jones under the residency rules. His new deal aligns with young hooker Makaia Tafua, leaving the Warriors with only a handful of players set to hit the market.
