Broncos give Blake Mozer permission to leave immediately
Brisbane have given hooker Blake Mozer permission to leave the club immediately, even though he has a year remaining on his contract. Once regarded as a Cameron Smith-like prodigy, the 22-year-old has played 16 NRL games since debuting as a teenager in 2023 but is yet to start a match, with injuries including a broken jaw and a serious shoulder problem hampering his progress. The Broncos re-signed hookers Billy Walters and Cory Paix earlier this year, while Ben Hunt is also expected to spend time at dummy half next season. Mozer, a former Queensland under-19s captain, was Brisbane's Ken Stephen Medal nominee this year for his regular visits to the Queensland Children's Hospital.
