Cooper Bai close to Titans exit after permission to talk to PNG Chiefs
Cooper Bai is close to leaving the Gold Coast after the Titans gave him permission to talk to the PNG Chiefs. The 19-year-old forward, son of PNG great Marcus Bai, was due to visit the Chiefs in Port Moresby this week, just after the club unveiled its first logo and jersey. Bai nearly joined the Storm last year before backing out during the cooling-off period, and while his 2026 season was disappointing, he remains one of the game's most highly rated young forwards. His current deal includes a player option for 2028, allowing him to look elsewhere, and PNG are keen to lure him with tax-free money.
