Bradman Best set to test the market after feeling lowballed by Knights
Bradman Best is expected to test the open market on November 1 after Newcastle's latest offer reportedly left him feeling lowballed. The centre is set to earn $750,000 next season, but the Knights' offer for 2028 is understood to be $700,000, a pay cut despite his return to the NSW side, his role in Newcastle's grand final run and his call-up to the Kangaroos' World Cup squad. With the salary cap expected to rise significantly from 2028, Best's value is only likely to grow. The Knights already have big money committed to Kalyn Ponga and Dylan Brown, though Dominic Young and Dylan Lucas both re-signed this year after early offers they weren't happy with. Parramatta are among the clubs expected to show interest.
