Liam Martin set to test the market as Sharks and Broncos circle

Penrith back-rower Liam Martin is set to test the open market on November 1, with Cronulla and Brisbane both keeping a close eye on his future. Martin is yet to receive an offer from the Panthers, who are working through new deals for Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo and Moses Leota and want to avoid distracting him during the World Cup. The Sharks see Martin as a back-up option with Briton Nikora and Teig Wilton both off-contract, while the Broncos have several back-rowers coming off contract in the next two years. Martin also has links to both clubs through Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon and his cousin, Broncos assistant Trent Barrett. The Roosters have ruled themselves out of the race.
