Dragons poach Nathan Fien from Dolphins as Dean Young's top assistant

Dragons coach Dean Young has appointed his coaching staff for 2027, bringing in former St George Illawarra premiership winner Nathan Fien from the Dolphins as his top assistant. Fien, who helped drive the Dolphins' attack to a top-four finish this season, will work with a new-look Dragons spine including Scott Drinkwater, Kodi Nikorima, Luke Metcalf, Jacob Liddle and Connor Watson. Respected Sharks pathways coach Dave Howlett also joins the staff, while Willie Talau will coach the NSW Cup side and Tom Eisenhuth the SG Ball team. The Dragons are expected to target a strike outside back when the market opens on November 1.
