Yeo to captain Kangaroos as six potential debutants named in World Cup squad

Isaah Yeo will captain Australia at the home World Cup after the Kangaroos named their 23-man squad, which includes six potential debutants: Bradman Best, Jack Bostock, Blayke Brailey, David Fifita, Sam Walker and Jacob Preston. James Tedesco, Reece Walsh, Latrell Mitchell and Tom Trbojevic are among the experienced heads, while Thomas Jenkins, Hamish Stewart and Ethan Strange have been named as shadow players. Coach Kevin Walters said several players had forced their way into contention with strong finals campaigns, and he was happy with the balance of experience, size and strike power in the group. The Kangaroos will face New Zealand in Sydney, Fiji in Brisbane and the Cook Islands in Townsville.
