Three Dolphins named in Australia's preliminary World Cup squad

Three Dolphins players — Selwyn Cobbo, Max Plath and Jack Bostock — have reportedly been named in Australia's preliminary 40-man World Cup squad. Cobbo returned to Origin this year after being dropped from Brisbane's top grade, Plath played all three games in his debut Origin series, and Bostock made his NSW debut in the decider. With Mark Nawaqanitawase returning to rugby and Josh Addo-Carr unavailable, the wing and centre spots remain wide open, with Cobbo, Bostock, Jojo Fifita and Tom Jenkins contesting the wings, and Staggs, Bostock, Bradman Best, Latrell Mitchell and Tom Trbojevic all in the centre race.
