NRL clubs unanimously endorse V'landys for executive chairman
NRL clubs have unanimously endorsed Peter V'landys to become executive chairman, following a 30-minute phone hook-up between club chairs hosted by South Sydney's Nick Pappas. V'landys is expected to formally decide his future at Wednesday's Commission meeting, taking on a three-year term beginning after the ARL Commission's February 2027 AGM. An independent firm will assess his new salary, which could exceed $2 million a year. Peter Beattie strongly backed the move, describing V'landys as a clear, decisive and highly consultative leader who helped drive the game's record media deal and commercial growth. Earlier concerns about club opposition don't appear to have materialised.
