Roosters, Broncos eye 2028 Global Round fixture in Japan

The Roosters have formally expressed interest in playing a premiership match in Japan, with the Broncos also under consideration for a potential Global Round fixture in 2028, as part of NRL plans to stage two premiership games in Japan and Hong Kong that year. Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy is supportive of taking rugby league to the world, and both clubs previously helped launch the NRL's Las Vegas venture in 2024. A Broncos-Roosters clash in Tokyo would mark the first NRL premiership match in Japan in 30 years, since the Roosters' 1996 visit.
